Up more than 15%? It's still tempting to buy b/c I think it's going to $60 on such momentum. But discipline pretty much trumps a FOMO trade. As I've typed this, the stock has run another 2%. Yikes!!

Besides, I sometimes hear the words of my old baseball coach: "Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable."

- woodman: Quantum Computing update - not too much to say with these on the whole, except that they continue to consoldidate. $RGTI (in which I have a position) is doing so while also holding its rising 50d support, which is a better look than others in the sector. $IONQ (np) sideways consolidation. $QBTS (small position) has been in sideways consolidation, and within that, it has been consolidating just under the 50d support. $QUBT (np) consolidating under the 50d as well.

I set up my trading platform so that a profit limit and a stop market order are inbitiated when I place a buy order. They get OCO triggered when these stops get hit. Of course, I do adjust them as necessary but its a good starting point that has helped me get a handle on managing positions. Maybe ask @Dan any questions you may have at the 11am session.

- kenb: @wijimmy $QBTS I think the 50d is a moving target, changes by the minute. When I looked, I think it was around $16.55 Simple MA. Maybe that's the difference. Right now, it's showing $16.81 MVA on my chart.

The suggested stop at 16.55 was almost hit, but the stock remained above the flat 50-day moving average. It's bouncing today on 70% higher-then-average volume and offering a lower entry. If you are not in this stock, you can consider some here at 17.94, which is nearly $1 buck below our original entry. --Dan

They may well hold, but be careful. $BTQQF doing a little better at holding the 50d. $RGTI in some consolidation above the 50d, holding the 20d area.

I have a little $ARQQ, which hasn't announced its next reporting date. I may sell that too, to avoid risk of sympathy moves. I've done well with QC overall, so I'm erring on the side of avoiding risk of earnings.

$QBTS -- Just added this today after a confirmed rebound off the 50-day moving average. Earnings are due on Thursday on this quantum computing company. Due to pending earnings, this is really more of a scalp.
$AMZN -- Looking like yesterday prin ... - woodman: $ARQQ up through the 8dEMA and 21dEMA with 20dSMA still above. I like the chart here, however.... I don't see a confirmed date for $ARQQ, but I'm curious (and cautious) to see how it may react to $QBTS (8/7 bmo) and $IONQ (8/6 amc) earnings. Even if one QC stock may not be reporting this week/soon (ARQQ, e.g.), my sense is to be cautious with the entire QC group surrounding the reports by those that are reporting this week. I have decent profit in the QC stocks which I'd rather not give back, so I will likely tread very lightly going into these earnings.

- stairm01: $QBTS Earnings play. I like to sell puts at or below the expected move on stocks I'd like to own. During earnings the IV is high on the put options (186%) which brings in extra money. The low side implied move is $15.92 presently and the $16 put is selling for 0.42.

... - woodman: @StockMarketMentor $IONQ $RGTI $QUBT $QBTS - Folks can look at my Quantum Computing stock watchlist I've been posting about for some time. $ARQQ $IBM and $BTQQF are also in the space (as is ugly $QMCO). As I've mentioned, I've been trading around various names in the space based on the charts. I am currently in $QBTS (somewhat messy consolidation but holding up, and I think it goes higher from here) and $IONQ (testing bottom of wedge and 50d). No position in ARQQ, but it's hovering around the 50d after falling through the 21dEMA which was a trend break. However, I'm watching it here.
