  • champ: @Docoof $BBAR $EDN $PAM $ARCO $YPF $TGS $CAAP $CEPU $SUPV $LOMA $TEO $GGAL $ARGT $TUR #OnFire #first....I agree, that it seems like everything was on Fire in $TUR and also in Argentina....I wish I has seen your posts earlier.......and now I'm aware about Argentina....Thanks.
  • Docoof: #OnFire Where are the companies with stocks that are on fire? Argentina: $BBAR $EDN $PAM $ARCO $YPF $TGS $CAAP $CEPU $SUPV $LOMA ($TEO, $GGAL) The Global X MSCI Argentina ETF $ARGT
  • champ: @Docoof $BBAR $EDN $PAM $ARCO $YPF $TGS $CAAP $CEPU $SUPV $LOMA $TEO $GGAL $ARGT #OnFire.......if we, the U.S..... was to get a nice move on Tuesday,.....that ETF would all already be a Day late, for U.S. Investors, so my guess is,....most all the U.S. investors will be working with our own ETF's #first....and then the Traders in Argentina, might even be chasing our ETF's on their open.....just never know.
  • Docoof: @champ $BBAR $EDN $PAM $ARCO $YPF $TGS $CAAP $CEPU $SUPV $LOMA $TEO $GGAL $ARGT #OnFire #first Could be. Who knows? Maybe it will play out like $TUR—one of the biggest reasons why my acct. didn’t get trashed in 2022. I hesitated too long on $TUR because I took the lack of Forum responses to be negative responses. But I soon recognized the obvious: no one was reading or caring about rook posts about a Turkey ETF. You’re probably right. We’ll see. (Nevertheless, the above post wasn’t intended to highlight the ETF, but the individual stocks mentioned.)

  • DAN: $TEO -- might want to watch this for an oversold rebound. No position. It just popped up on my screen.
  • justinp: @DAN $TEO All those long distance calls to the IMF must be racking up the revenues. $ARGT
  • DAN: @justinp $TEO $ARGT LOL. Probably.
  • Geewhiz: $TEO @DAN My stop hit. STC $TEO @ 36.55. BTO 0n 10/13 @ 31.7. Over 15%. Thanks @DAN for bringing this stock to our attention. Probably would have pulled stop if I had remembered today stock was ex dividend of 1.28. At least I get to keep the dividend.
  • DAN: @Geewhiz $TEO That works, geewhiz. Good for having a stop in place. nice trade. Held it for as long as you could, with protection.
  • bsnceo: $TEO anybody still have this besides me?
  • bsnceo: $TEO have a nice profit in this stk. Any thoughts about where to move the stop?
  • bsnceo: Glad held onto $TEO, still sloppy but like it
  • DAN: $TEO -- Monday's breakout is following through today. One thing to remember about breakouts from squeezes. They can often take a rest after the big move as selling hits the market due to the new high. The stock can even reverse all of its gains. But that doesn't mean that the trade should be closed. When you make your first buy, your stop should also be established. And once that stop is established, give the stock room to move -- to do its thing. Many times I've made the mistake of closing a slightly profitable position on a stock that's popped out of a squeeze, but failed to follow through on the second or even third day. Once I've closed the position, the stock then takes off without me and I feel kind of foolish. So I've learned to just stick with my stop.
  • DAN: $TEO is continuing its breakout on relatively high volume (just 34,500 shares...but that's 250% above average volume for this time of day).
  • bsafriet: $TEO $33.60 +1.90 5.00% Long, entry @ $32.41 on 10/19 Txs @DAN

  • greenpatrol: @DAN $TEO @Dan, didn't you get stopped out on Friday? You said that your stop was around 31.75.
  • DAN: @Marcelomex $TEO Hope so!!! Don't cry for me, Argentina! ;-)
  • DAN: @greenpatrol $TEO Got stopped out of half of my position. I put it back on this morning when the stock started moving above Friday's open on higher volume.
  • greenpatrol: @DAN $TEO Thanks Dan. Appreciate the info. Useful to know.

  • taylor: CHRS, $LCC, $LF, $AGNC, $WFM - here's whats working. But should we be buying them now? $IDCC, $EBS, $RP, $TEO, HEK - here's what hasn't been working for some time, but they all closed up today in a nasty market after touching a new low. Have we seen the maximum power of the bears in each of these? With which group of stocks is it easier to define your risk?

  • klarson18: @taylor, curious on the $TEO Mar 17 puts. what made your decision? I'm trying to learn, not criticize, but it looks to me like it will ride the lower BB down to about 17.25 prior to the 17th. Are you seeing a floor and possible pop before that? BTW thanks for the vvus $5 put, took your advice and scored really well!
  • taylor: $TEO @klarson18 - the 52-Wk Range is 16.90 - 26.90. The put premium doesn't get me in at the recent low if exercised, but pretty close. I actually think the puts expire, but I would take the stock at a net cost of 17.30, only 40 cents above the low for the year.
  • jetace: #YIELDHOGS - @jan2138 - Have you looked at $TEO, $PER, ECT for your #yieldhog portfolio?
  • jan2138: @jetace: No, I haven't 'til now. $TEO, yield marginal, and I don't buy South American issues any more. PER's 8% yld. too low for me. ECT, I need to look at, but unless it really attractive, I am staying away from K-1 generating names. There are too many other high yielding opportunities out there which are much simpler at tax time. Thanks for mentioning them.

  • jan2138: #yieldhogs: TEO; caveat emptor; I mentioned last week that I had seen an article in thestreet.com about some high yielding issues, one of which was TEO. The article mentioned that it sported a 9.50 ish yield. This is an Argentinian telecom. So, I was ...
  • rincon8: $TEO - @JAN2138 if ever you need immediate translation help, don't forget google translator - click on the Language Tools point as it will take larger sections of text. Obviously it needs watching and isn't 100% reliable, but starting off with a cut and paste of text can be a big help.
  • rincon8: $TEO - here's the $TEO website link for 2010 #dividend: http://www.telecom.com.ar/inversores/dividendos/index.html Click on "Dividendos ejercicios anteriores" just below the table for the previous years. Hope its ok to share this link, if not plse remove. Hope that helps. According to the online translator, "Dividendo por accion" is "#dividend per share".
  • skimamma: BMa- It has dropped quite a bit from todays high and I got stopped out as has $TEO, an argentine telephone stock. I am waiting for tomorrow to see how they act. Both are in good uptrends so they probably are good buys. The reaction is from an ex-president dying so I don't think that catalyst will continue.
  • nwsvndr: $BMA - Agreed; it had already pulled back and stabilized when I posted - the initial reaction to the news was an "over-reaction". Other Argentina stocks (e.g. $TEO and CRESY) are reacting favorably and coming out of volatility squeezes as well. Not saying they should be bought right here, right now (although I already held a small position and added just a bit after the pullback) - just saying these are ones to watch. I don't know enough about the political situation to comment on that; maybe someone else in the forum does?

Since starting SMM we have been thru only 2 of @Dan's Dips, both of which I took profits too early. Stocks I have traded with profits since Sept. $OXY, $TJX, $HPQ, $AAPL, $INTC, PCU, JOYG, $ATW, $DO, $GS, $BP, $V, $TNS, $MS, APD. My losers are $SNPS ...
  • ronaldrussell: $TEO - Advise - Bought yesterday @ $17.72, did not place stop because of opening gap down potential. Was playing a 50 DMA bounce, I was wrong. Now it looks like #squeeze is trying to resolve to the downside. Bounced this am on volume. I don't want this to turn into a big loss. I am considering a stop @ $16.96, below even number and recent low of $16.14. What do you think?
  • ronaldrussell: $KOG - $TEO Thanks for the alert I am in $TEO and will start watching KOG.
