- champ: @GOOSE @CraigReynolds...$GOOS, works off of rev numbers ----- $COLM, beat on ER and Revs, plus they are guiding above consensus. $AMZN, also beat on revs. Investors always watch the rev numbers.... these numbers are clues for $GOOS, on their rev numbers. $AMZN, also sells $GOOS products. Both of these earnings reports are also positive for $GOOS, could be one of the reasons why this stock fell back, going into other retailers earnings. $DECK, also beat on their Rev-numbers. Retail sales numbers are growing, that is what is important for $GOOS and the only thing that really counts. Profits depend on each company....but #Sales-are-Climbing, not dropping and that is always positive, for other retailers.
- champ: @riskmanager $GOOG --- You have to be real fast,....always hard to buy in the AH's market, because you always have the earnings call, that could be problematic and you could also get hit in the pre-market (PM)...but you can trade it. I normally sell part or all when I'm swinging into earnings, off of a nice bounce, in the AH's. I'm holding a $COLM position, that I posted about but I'm going to Spec swing, into the open.

COLM seems to have much better fundimentals (double digit earnigs growth and sales growth) is uptrending (monthly, weekly and daily) vs downtrending HBI. Why the interest?

- champ: $GOOS...this retailer is getting a little action, in the AH's, both of these retailers beat on earnings.... $COLM and they guided higher, a cold weather retailer, like $GOOS...and $DECK also had a nice beat....but sales on UGG brand boots, were down a little but everything else was up....gross margins is expected to be 50%. This retail seasons is expected to be even better than last years, by around 5% and last year was even better that 2016, by around 5%, I believe.

They get phenomenal breaks in this state: They ship all over the country and have a lot of sports team stuff but they only pay taxes on the items sold in their home state: they get an exemption from the state for selling in all the other states. I'd like to see that implemented for every company.

Both of these stocks are going higher IMO.

- gwenzee: @champ $COLM It is on my Watch List. With El Nino effect, rain and snow, snow, snow (in the West) one would think COLM clothing would be flying off the shelves. They make an excellent product. However, stock has been sliding lower ever since hitting a high on July 31. Look at ADX....red is just peaking above green. Sign of things to come???
- champ: @gwenzee $COLM - Yes, you would sure think so but traders and retail are selling. The ADX line should change when buyers start to get back in. I will be watching also and when the market turns this stock will be one of my buys. As you know we don't have to be in any real big hurry but for me ....I will try to be the 3rd or 4th one out of the fox hole....have a nice weekend. I know I really need some down time.....very hard week but FUN.

Still holding this cold weather apparel stock $COLM....cold weather really going to move in next weekend. Sportswear Company for all sports, Footwear, Skiing accessories and also Equipment for all sports....cold skiing weather should kick this stock higher in the coming days and weeks IMO....still holding.

Has Ski apparel ...along with all outdoor lifestyle apparel...for all sports. The high was $74 back in August and the low was $41.11. Reported great earnings on 10/29...stock dropped for no real reason that I can find.

I took a started posting this morning about an 2 hour's ago.....Spec trade looking for a bounce....seems to be working for now. Still holding $GPRO and $FIT from Friday...see post. Added to $ALB and $DIS going into earnings both on Wednesday 11/4/AH... also $URI and $SSO this morning. $XRT - This retail sector starting to wake up ..even $COLM which I got stopped out of this morning but still holding 14 stocks in this sector.

- Forexpro: Re: $COLM Hi, Friends, This hasn't been mentioned in the Forum since Tricia noted some wild price action back in darkest Feb. It's wild again, above the three standard deviation Bollinger Band, although a close in the bottom half of the day's range on Friday may not bode well for its ability to maintain altitude. Still, it didn't do a $LNKD, and remained green throughout Friday's session. I don't have anything going on in this; it isn't in a sector that I know much about, other than what DeBeers imparts. I came across it during the weekend reading, and plan to keep an eye on it, just to get a better sense for how it works.
