  • champ: @Herb $SLCA ---- These stocks look terrible because they are not fracking, the new Oil wells, are on hold and there is is around 6,000 or so, they are waiting for new pipelines, need new Oil flows, all the pipeline flows are Maxed out. No entries on these for now...$EMES $HCLP $CVIA and $CRR ..but $SND made a nice move today. However, the lower they drop, the better they look. I'm holding positions in these 2...$EXP, $SOI and I'm back in $SLCA today. On the others, research will tell you, the reasons why they are on hold.

These numbers were released this morning, by the #Bureau-of-Labor-Statistics. $SLCA, is up over 6% and $SND..up 10% and is up over 50% since my 2/1 post. I'm hold these positions and others.

  • champ: $SND...#Sand-Supplier ...Great earnings...overall tons sold was the highest in the company history and that is a 28% increase over last quarter. Short interest is 33.15% of the float....they had a high number to beat and they beat it by $0.03 and also beat on revs...they look to be on track now...and I suspect that they will guide higher on the call....they should now receive upgrades. I have a new spec position.

However, that is how it is suppose to work, just like you said but it is always hard to figure out why #investors-do-what-they-do....but for me....it is more about #Uncertainty, in the Oil markets..and with are President, tweeting all the time...this works for me. If you look at the AH's volume on both $Gush and $UWT ...$UWT is the clear volume leader, in the AH's because there is #Uncertainty...about the ##EIA Oil report in the morning....maybe that helps you and others... to better understand this ETF a little more...Good Luck.

Each line has columns ...I have it set-up with 24 columns...with all the info that I need...volume..5-10 and 30 day...price hi-low., news alerts, voice alerts, volume alerts, price alerts...many price alerts on one stock if I choose...everything I need...I have all the tools that I need to make profits and save profits...dates... you name and I have it.

I don't think it's done, though. It has come all the way back from its big pullback from mid January to March/April. But here as it has made its way all the way back to that interim January 2018 top - which was a double top in January (from May 2017), instead of pulling back to make a triple top here, it is continuing higher, putting that resistance behind it without much thought about it.

  • woodman: @gwenzee $EXEL $PBYI - $SND - in the spirit of confessing our sins and showing our wounds, here's one of mine today: SND - I didn't have down on my daily paper printout of my current holdings and reporting dates that SND was reporting yesterday. I had it on the screen of my TC2000 chart, but I always try to put it prominently on both on the stock screen and on my hardcopy list. Belt and suspenders. Well, my belt (TC2000) unbuckled (when I failed to look at/notice it on my SND screen) and I didn't have my suspenders on. Consequently, I inadvertently held it over earnings. It came back some, for short time, and I sold it, but significant damage was done.

I'm holding positions in all of these and 5 have already reported earnings and I have been building/adding after earnings. These service companies and sup[pliers, are all working.

  • champ: $XLE $ERX ----- #Energy-Sector-Positions ---- The sector could turn even more...the EIA will release a short-term monthly energy report between 12:00 - 12:15 ET this morning...this sector is strong today because ...China will be increasing imports on Oil from the U.S.... our exports could increase...they are at 400k per day now... to China only.....it is about the trade deficits....this is expected to raise exports....the hope trade is working in the sector. $PUMP $FRAC $SLCA $XOM $DK $EXP $LBRT $SOI $SND $CRR $FMSA $EMES $HCLP $CXO $EOG $XCE $PXD $FANG.....short are covering.... other countries are also now importing from the U.S....and these exports are climbing ...fast.

The driving season will start to pick back-up, went warmer weather starts moving back-in. Then a new leg will start again, in the sector. Freezing weather hurt earnings in the sector.... #Sand shipments came to a stop, along with drilling and Oil production in many locations and rail cars were not even moving. I'm waiting for low entry, on all the names. This drop is really positive...for entry at some point. I did take a new Spec position in $SLCA today. I posted on 1/29, that I was out of $SND...took profits around $10.75.

I'm out of all large cap names, last week and I started on 1/23. I'm only holding a few small positions in $RSDA $PXD $CRZO and $CXO, took profits...for now, on all positions. Oil Inventory numbers, could show #Builds, on the API and the EIA reports tomorrow and Wednesday. I trade off of high turns on the charts, with news...I also sold $FANG, $EOG $XEC, $OXY and a few others. I took profits on $XEC, the week before on 1/15....but Thanks, for the heads up.

Many take losses on these stocks and the zig-zags will drive you crazy....and what you have to remember is...traders are at work in these stocks daily....and you have to be able to think like they do and then you will understand why these stocks do the Texas's 2 step. Its not that investors don't like the stocks, its they don't know how to #hang out with traders. Its kind of like...if you don't drink or smoke, its hard to hang out with that crowd. Thats all it really is....
