- Lou: $ACAS NRF - watching and doing nothing today but can't help but point out the big pop in $ACAS after company announced another massive share buyback during the current quarter. Now has repurchased more than 24% of shares and still at a significant discount to $BV which is probably above $20/share today. As for $NRF - a very large buy this pm. Someone purchased 1.12 mil shares at 12:51 pm up 44 cents from prior price. Enjoy the weekend all. @Lou

- jmscap: $BV - Anyone in this? @Dan brought it up a while back in one of the Strategy Sessions. After doing my own homework, I bought a small block...which is now up over 10%. On the daily chart it's very close to the 10 DMA. It seems stalled out on the weekly chart though after trading above the upper BB. I would like to buy more on good bounce though. Any thoughts on this one? I have a little longer time frame and this is one where I'd just like to ride the upward trend and keep some reasonable stops in place to protect profits. My biggest challenge is often figuring out when/where to add. Thanks @Dan for showcasing this one and to all of the other members. - aloha808: $BV @clefferts, depending on how much you want to risk, you could just take a partial position now, to get it on your radar. What I did was buy a very small amount of November $10 calls at $1.50 a few days ago. Just to get it in my account. Today I am trying to figure out the next step. Good luck. Either way I think @Dan would say that it is fine to get involved in a small way, even though it has broken out today. Just have a plan. :) -aloha

- DAN: $BV -- don't forget about Bazaarvoice (BV). I've mentioned it a couple of times...and it is REALLY THIN!! I've got a November $10 call position on the stock which gives me some pretty good exposure. The stock is forming a "flag" and looking like it could move higher. I would be careful about the #options because they are pretty thin, and the spreads are wide enough to drive a $YRCW truck through. The way I'll be trading them will be to liquidate "gently" as expiration approaches. I don't want to have to chase the bids down because that could turn a good trade into a heart attack. (They've already announced earnings, and short interest is relatively low -- 11% of the float) @Dan
- eliasmavs99: $BV - A nice break out today. On a daily chart, you can see it coming out of a volatility #squeeze, resistance was at 9.65. Phase 1- 7/10 break out Phase 2- Test on 7/11-12 Phase 3- Going higher today Long at 9.8. I like what the company does and their client list. I think most companies don't understand social media and that's why they need to outsource it to firms like $BV who can fulfill this role.

- flyboy2834: CXS....@JAN2138 and his hognation. I mentioned this one a yr or so back without much traction. They raised their div 15% tonite from .27 to .32 (12% yield). MREIT that appears to deal with nonsecured mortg debt. I believe the $BV is a bit north or $12/sh and these guys are managed by the $NLY team.

Came across this potential MREIT candidate for the high yield portfolio last nite when I saw a note that they were raising their div 10% to a 13% yield. $BV is about $22 with the stk trading @ $23 and change. Chart looks good. Anybody see something they don't like.
- taylor: $ANH - Anworth Mortgage (ANH +1.6%) gets an upgrade to Buy from Sterne Agee. No details yet on the reasoning, but the it seems clear with the firm reporting $BV of $7.19/share as of June 30 vs. the shares closing at $6.63 last night. The company's entire portfolio consists of agency MBS, 78% of which is adjustable rate.
- Lou: $ACAS @levnor18 - that's exactly what it means. They are using the funds that would otherwise be available for dividends to buy back shares. This has the effect of further boosting book value per share. They've repurchased a very significant percentage of outstanding shares - thereby increasing both $BV per share and EPS. BV/share is now more than $16/share. Lots of room for capital appreciation. It's all good! I again commend all to look at the SEC filings and view some of the recent presentations available on the $IR portion of the company website.

- Lou: $NRF - why's that @Henry? Paying .50/pa and $BV well above current market price. Why not let the charts and stops tell you when to get out? I recognize that there is a difference between us as you've been in it "for weeks," and, as you may recall, I've been a LT holder and advocate for this name. I see nothing to make me think that this is a source of funds as I believe that substantial appreciation is still coming. Lou: @Dana - $NRF - I don't think the $15+ $BV is real at this time but it well may get there. Even if it were cut in half when all adjustments are made, the common is discounted and the preferreds are well protected.
The bottom line though is that t ... - Lou: $ACAS I don't know whether anyone here has followed me into this entity. Reports tday after market and has ramped nicely though down slightly today. I have a way over full position - I've been buying from 2.40 through almost 4. It reported $BV of 7.90 in September quarter, has worked out financing restructure with major lenders, and I'm very optimistic that it can still be a double from here. CC tomorrow.
- Lou: $PSEC -- @Tim, where do you view support? I bailed out of most of my before the last ex-div date and have been regretting. I expected it to go down on the divy then go down further on a secondary when I hoped to load up again. Now just watching and looking for a reentry. Still don't know whether there will be a secondary but there are many other competitors that would make very profitable additions via acquisition (much as Patriot was) so I think a secondary would work. I have been building a position in $ACAS (at prices from 2.39 to around 4 - currently 3.78) as I believe it will be acquired. Last $BV was 7.90+ in September but debt needs to be resolved (and I believe they're almost there) to avoid BK. @Lou
