  • Docoof: @woodman $PANL If you have time, can you comment on this chart in terms of why you do or don’t think it justifies taking a starter position or an early entry? Thank you.
  • woodman: @Docoof $PANL - I think it's still consolidating in a base, though has potential to move out of base wiht narrowing BBs. Perhaps buy small to get a head start, but keep it small for now. If you are okay holding a small bit for perhaps not an immediate breakout, then fine. And if it can't hold the specific congestion area from 12/7 to present, then let it go and try again another time? Again, keeping it small for now will make you less worrisome. I've attached a resistance and support drawing with a daily and weekly view. Note also, if it does start to breakout, that 8/10 spike to 5.79 will likely serve as some next resistance.
  • woodman: @Docoof $PANL - Sorry, above post has the weekly. Here is the daily.
  • Docoof: @woodman $PANL Thanks, woodman.—I hope you take seriously how much I’ve learned and continue to learn from your posts and responses. I find them so helpful and instructive. Thanks!
  • woodman: @Docoof $PANL - Very kind of you to say. I appreciate it, and I'm glad they are helpful.
  • Docoof: #Noteworthy #DryBulk (FWIW) $PANL Dry Bulk shippers are retaking their MAs (on good volume) but still under their 200d. $PANL is the first to get above all its major MAs and closed at $5.18 near horizontal resistance = $5.35. Others: $EGLE $SBLK $NMM $GOGL $DSX $SB #Tankers $NMM is also a Tanker company.
  • Docoof: @JKI $zim As you said, a lot of shippers taking a hit today: $PANL $SB $GRIN $EGLE $GNK $SBLK $ESEA $GOGL There doesn’t seem to be any news that suggests why. Alas, no insight. [Edit: See Henry’s post. 😬]
  • Henry: @Docoof $zim $PANL $SB $GRIN $EGLE $GNK $SBLK $ESEA $GOGL The Baltic Dry Index has fallen 25% in just over 2 weeks.
  • JKI: @Henry $zim $PANL $SB $GRIN $EGLE $GNK $SBLK $ESEA $GOGL Thanks for the information, much appreciated!
  • sgiseller: @Henry $zim $PANL $SB $GRIN $EGLE $GNK $SBLK $ESEA $GOGL getting ready for war in the baltic?
  • woodman: $ASC - I have some of this #shipper (along with $PANL). ASC is in an uptrend but has been consolidating sideways the last couple weeks and into the 20d which has generally been support. During this recent sideways move within the uptrend, it has been testing ~6.85 level. I like the consolidation, which could be setting up for another move higher. On the weekly, this is a flag.
  • champ: @woodman $ASC $PANL #shipper ....and $ARCB...is up +$1.77 as of RHRN, at $77.40.
  • woodman: $PANL trying to come out of flag.
  • woodman: $PANL out of flag
  • Pokersmith: @woodman $PANL Ex divie today ...fyi
  • woodman: @fiebs $EGLE - Nice close. Made a new high. Another #shipper that I'm in, $PANL, is moving out of a flag.
  • woodman: $PANL flag following cup and handle breakout.
  • mharps: @woodman $PANL got some more the other day on that dip do you see a target ?
  • woodman: @mharps $PANL - 8-8.50, but not smoothly or without pullbacks that could be significant. Beyond that, all time high is 10.73. (All fwiw; no guarantees. :)
  • woodman: @Docoof $GNK - I posted some of this re #Shippers in a strand below. Re-posting, plus a little more content: Some nice consolidation in the #shippers, see $ZIM $EGLE $GRIN (ones I've owned) and $SBLK $NETI $SB $GNK. And these two have a decent uptrend taking place: $INSW $ASC. Others in the sector may be worth taking a look at too. Also, $PANL - another one I've owned - is breaking out.
  • Docoof: @woodman $GNK $ZIM $EGLE $GRIN $SBLK $NETI $SB $INSW $ASC $PANL #Shippers #shippers I typed this out and was ready to post but now I see I’m too late: One of your favs (I think) not mentioned in your earlier post is also having a good day and at a 1-yr high: $PANL
  • bilipi: @Docoof $GNK $ZIM $EGLE $GRIN $SBLK $NETI $SB $INSW $ASC $PANL #Shippers #shippers We could really use those setups in advance for the triggers ( warm smile ! ) .... easy peasy pumpkin cheesy
  • bwcarnation1: @woodman $GNK $ZIM $EGLE $GRIN $SBLK $NETI $SB $INSW $ASC $PANL #Shippers #shippers $BOAT get them all!
  • Docoof: Shipper doing well today: $EGLE $GRIN $GNK $PANL
  • snowbound: @woodman $GRIN What do you think of $PANL ? I haven't been trying to catch the 50 ( 200 ) but it would have worked on this as well . $ZIM
  • woodman: @snowbound $GRIN $PANL $ZIM - I bought back $PANL on 4/8. The 20d area had been support, so now could be resistance. Needs to push through it. So far so good today. I have no position in $ZIM currently.
  • snowbound: @woodman $GRIN $PANL $ZIM Yes , I'd use the 20SMAd as my reference wih a close above . The 50 is a stop area ( as it is raised trailing the 8EMAd higher ) . window shopping ... the 20 has flattened out , nice symmetry surrounding the 50 pivot .
  • Docoof: Wow! $SBLK $GOGL $GNK $PANL $EGLE $SB Shippers/Bulk Shippers
  • snowbound: @Docoof $SBLK $GOGL $GNK $PANL $EGLE $SB ... not sure how $GWW fits in but it broke form .
  • wanda1616: @Docoof $SBLK $GOGL $GNK $PANL $EGLE $SB weird how $ZIM is not participating at all. wonder why
  • DAN: ...
    Other Shippers (thanks Docoof): $SBLK $PANL $EGLE $SB

$ABBV - - Mikev200 posted. Oversold rebound. Very steep, high volume drop. Will likely take a while to consolidate. I’d watch rather than buy (which is exactly what Mike said).
  • woodman: @snowbound $ESEA - I'm not so fond of $ESEA but some other #shippers showing some life at interesting spots. $GRIN $EGLE (long both of those); also $DSX $CMRE $GSL $PANL $CTRM (np in any of them).
  • snowbound: @woodman $ESEA $GRIN $EGLE $DSX $CMRE $GSL $PANL $CTRM #shippers Well thank -you , Sir . If that should change I'll be all ears .
  • woodman: @snowbound $ESEA - I sold it a few days ago and I don't think much of where it is right here, which is to say middle of the wedge. I'm still in $PANL $GRIN and $EGLE, and I bought $ZIM on the considerable post ex-div-pullback. ZIM seems to me to be in a nice spot here pulling back and holding the 50 day. Low risk buy with good potential to move higher. EGLE may be a sell here, but I'm still holding. It's testing resistance at 69 after a nice run from last pullback where I bought it (around 59).
  • snowbound: @woodman $ESEA $PANL $GRIN $EGLE $ZIM I am interested in how this wedge may eventually break in a swing move . I may ask again in time . thank -you
  • woodman: @snowbound $ESEA $PANL $GRIN $EGLE $ZIM - ESEA is "drifting" right now. Bottom of wedge is around 26. Top is around 34. Current price 29.
  • snowbound: @woodman $ESEA $PANL $GRIN $EGLE $ZIM I'm getting these all on a list . gratitude $ZIM looks like a potential entry now with the confidence of the FORUM .
  • woodman: @bRobert $GOGL - #Shippers have done me well. I currently have a bouquet of them - $ZIM (bought on the ex-div pullback) $GRIN $PANL $EGLE $ESEA.
  • bRobert: @woodman $GOGL $ZIM $GRIN $PANL $EGLE $ESEA #Shippers these are the only cruises I would book
  • woodman: @bRobert $GOGL $ZIM $GRIN $PANL $EGLE $ESEA #Shippers - Rising tide lifts all boats.
  • woodman: #Shippers #Shipping - I bought $GRIN $ESEA and $EGLE last week, and have been trading around a core of $PANL on the fairly obvious tops and bottoms. I don't have $ZIM at the moment, but it's flagging. $NMM (np) is bouncing. $CMRE I regretfully sold and didn't buy back; can't touch it here. $DSX (np) not in a bad spot here. $MATX (np) doing well, look for another pullback. $DAC (np) also doing well, but would like a deeper pullback.
  • Babutters: @woodman $GRIN $ESEA $EGLE $PANL $ZIM $NMM $CMRE $DSX $MATX $DAC #Shippers #Shipping $ZIM ex div tomorrow for $17 share. I am long with a bit of a cushion.
  • woodman: @Babutters $GRIN $ESEA $EGLE $PANL $ZIM $NMM $CMRE $DSX $MATX $DAC #Shippers #Shipping - I forgot about that. Thanks.
  • Justhanging48: @woodman $GRIN $ESEA $EGLE $PANL $ZIM $NMM $CMRE $DSX $MATX $DAC #Shippers #Shipping How about $GSL?
  • woodman: @Justhanging48 $GRIN $ESEA $EGLE $PANL $ZIM $NMM $CMRE $DSX $MATX $DAC $GSL #Shippers #Shipping - it feels to me like it needs to go sideways or pullback a little more.
  • Justhanging48: @woodman $GRIN $ESEA $EGLE $PANL $ZIM $NMM $CMRE $DSX $MATX $DAC $GSL #Shippers #Shipping. Thanks!
  • woodman: $PANL continues to be a good trader with fairly predictable movements. Spikes to/above 3 st deviations have been followed pretty quickly by pullbacks to the 20d area, the former being an obvious place to sell and the latter being an obvious place to buy back. In between, the 8dEMA has been a decent intermediate support level.
  • woodman: Additional #Shippers to look at... Rates continue to go up, and China-covid situation is contributing. I've mentioned $PANL and everyone knows $ZIM. I also mentioned $CMRE some time ago (it took off). But may want to take a look at $EGLE $ESEA $GRIN $SBLK $SB. Some of these are at lower risk spots than others.
  • woodman: $PANL - this is a predictable move down. It was a pretty clear top on Friday (though I wasn't trading on Friday). I sold mine this morning first thing. It has these hard moves up and then pulls back to support. Follow the bouncing ball. It's setting up for another finding of support.
  • gatordave1: $PANL dry bulker moving nicely. Added to my long position.
  • woodman: @mharps $ZIM $DAC $NMM $CMRE - Ahh CMRE was one I had for a little bit, but didn't keep it. Now having some regret. I'm still in $PANL, though, including taking advantage of that spike/pullback sequence a couple weeks ago. It reports 3/16 amc.
  • woodman: $PANL continues slow ascent back up along 8dEMA after blow-off top ($5.85) on 2/23 and pullback to 21dEMA.
  • gatordave1: @woodman $PANL I joined you last week on this one. Pure dry bulk play.
  • woodman: @gatordave1 $PANL 👍👍
  • woodman: $PANL - I think this ultimately continues higher.
  • gatordave1: @woodman $PANL I'm with you. I like that they are focused on dry bulk. Shipping contracts are being renewed at 2.5x expiring rates. Spot rates moving higher quickly too.
  • woodman: @gatordave1 $PANL - It's low-priced and volatile. Big pops are good sell points, then you can buy it back. Ride the bronco.
  • woodman: $PANL gave nice, easy to see trades last week. The pop was an easy to detect sell, then the pullback the next day (or retest of pullback the day after that) to the 21dEMA/20dSMA area was a good re-buy area. Now in phase 3 back up.
  • woodman: $PANL trying to move back up after the pullback.
  • woodman: $PANL - gap filling. I sold most of what I had yesterday morning on the big pop. It gapped down this morning and I've bought back on this bounce.
  • woodman: $PANL - this has been a nice bounce on pullback and test of prior support at the 200d. Added back sold shares twice today.
  • woodman: $PANL - one I've mentioned recently when discussing the #Shipping #Shippers sector. I've been holding it as it's making this right side of the cup. I understand it may be too thin and low priced for some to want, but it's been killing it. It's coming out hot this morning and heading fast to 6 and change target, so really can't touch it here, but perhaps on a pullback for anyone interested.
  • gatordave1: @woodman $PANL Exclusively dry bulk. I like their approach and their fleet. 25 owned and also charters in when attractive contracts available. I will look to buy some on a pullback. Ex-div next week. Thanks for pointing it out.
  • woodman: @gatordave1 $PANL - I sold 2/3 on this morning's pop. I'm looking at that 6.23 area as a first target. I plan to buy back on a pullback. Thanks for the reminder about ex-div. • gatordave1: @woodman $PANL Lost the founder and CEO in December but with average tenure of employees 10 years they are stable and I think they will continue to perform well. NEWPORT, R.I., Dec. 14, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- With profound sadness, Pangaea Logistics Solutions Ltd. ("Pangaea" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: PANL) announces the death of Ed Coll, its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and one of its founders. • woodman: @gatordave1 $PANL - Thanks for the information.
  • woodman: I posted yesterday on #Shippers which continue to do well and, additionally, have been moving higher on earnings - at least from what I've seen among those reporting. Yesterday's strong action off of earnings was seen in $GRIN up 20%, $SBLK up 10%. Others not yet reporting still doing decently. $GNK had a nice day yesterday, coming out of a flag (earnings 2/24 bmo). $PANL (which I have) is just moving above some resistance out of flag type consolidation. $SB working on a flag. $GSL pullback to 20d is worth watching for a bounce. I also still have $CMRE, which has been a slow but reliable climber of late, and a little $ZIM. Fishing in this sector may reveal others that catch your fancy.
  • woodman: $PANL #shipper up 5% out of flag.
  • bRobert: @woodman $PANL #shipper ALove the action in the shippers Speaks to the upside in commodities moved Grains, metals $DBC $XME weekly breakouts
  • woodman: @bRobert $PANL #shipper - I was reading some comments by CEO of Maersk a few weeks ago. He was bullish for first half of this year. I do have $PANL and a couple other shippers, and $DBC.
  • woodman: @humble $ZIM - #Shippers doing pretty well overall. I do have some $ZIM, but those that reported earnings are doing especially well today: $GRIN up 20%, $SBLK up 10% (from as high as 14% today). Others not reporting still doing decently. $GNK strong today (earnings 2/24 bmo). I still have $CMRE, which has been slower to climb. $SB moving up out of little flag. $PANL out of a little consolidation. $GSL pullback to 20d, still deciding what it wants to do. So there are some options in the group.
  • JosephM: $PANL..one I missed. Was on it. Next.
