- gmj: #Metals Going through my watch list of metals this morning. several breaking up with vol +. Small position in $FCX and interested in $WPM, $FNV, $GOLD, $SVM, $PAAS, $GDX $GDXJ ... focused on $PALL down 40% off the highs 18% below the 200ma, basing SW across the bottom now with higher lows, 8% bb squeeze, back abv the 50ma and pivot. Game plan, sm starter pos on Monday above 197, add abv 202 and stop at 189 [-4% max]. $PALL has been a worker for me in the past, I'm looking for 15% upside/4% downside, Alerts set for b/0 202, 8ma/191.15 and 50 ma/ 189.50. Hunting will continue.

But I just wanted others to have some input into what gold/silver stocks they like best. (I eliminated $LODE, but some of you might like it best!)

AEM and SVM, as you say are working well. one obvious stop is the LOD, but how do you approach setting a stop for something like these now? One choice could be to stick with the LOD, another could be VWAP,. in this situation, there's no clear hourly or 30 minute levels of support, so what's your approach here? :)
- scottrades: @brett_anderson $SVM $EGO $AEM I think it depends on the % the stock goes up in a day. When something goes up 10+% in a day, I think it's worth having some tighter stops to lock in some of those gain, maybe with staggered stops. $SVM for example went up 10% and I moved it up tighter than I would on $KL for example.

But the stock is still in a basing pattern. Seems like the stock could go higher, but it is definitely tied to @Silver (SLV). As long as $SLV remains stuck at the lower right edge of the chart, $SVM will be there too. @Dan

- brodyborder: $SVM - Is anyone following this? $SVM got killed yesterday on a report from @Alfred Little claiming fraud in the company's Chinese subsidiary. There was a prior anonymous letter alleging fraud as well. Today's chart looks like a strong hammer is forming. It just broke through resistance on the 5 minute chart from yesterday. Could be a dangerous situation, a la PUDA, but this one is a Canadian company that has performed well over the years and has been absolutely slaughtered lately. Could be a strong bounce. I've done very well with this @silver miner in the past, but maybe that's causing a moth to flame reaction here... I bought yesterday on what was surely short covering. Thought I made a mistake, but today's move has bailed me out. Thinking I'll ride this out with a tight stop. Anyone have any thoughts?

- brwnilocks: ThinkOrSwim - anyone else having problems after the softward upgrade this weekend? Some of my positions are all wrong, especially $GGN and now I have something listed under "Other" as XGGNX and my shares of $SVM are also gone. Already contacted suppport but this is ridiculous! Showing a huge loss of $13,000+ on screw up. :(

- brwnilocks: $SVM - test of 50 ema and finding buyers. I re-entered into a partial position in case that's the extent of the pullback. If moves lower, will add to my partial position.
- brwnilocks: $SVM - continues to work. Met some resistance at the 61.8% fib retracement for the past 3 days, now above it. Watching for a close above that level and further push higher.
- Amache: $SVM I took it off the table on the after mkt rally, and will sit out a few rounds before re-entering. This @silver trade seems to behave better than trading some of the other miners. I picked up $SVM here on the forum, not sure who brought it up around Jan 25, and thanks. Bad thinking when I posted earlier 'SLW' when I meant SVM. Sorry for the confusion.

- brwnilocks: $SVM - also just noted on one of my charts that its at at the 50% fib retracement from the prior swing high to low. Could pause around here. If move continues above $12 which is ~ 61.8% fib and the upper BB, that would be bullish, imho.

- brwnilocks: $SVM - Hi @Markf. I have no special insight into this stock other than it looks like gold is getting clobbered today and this @silver stock is affected. I do see a higher high and higher low from yesterday although we have a red candle. Looks like $GLD has been sold down to an uptrend support line. As long as I see Tuesday's low hold on $SVM, I will continue to look at this as a longer term trade. Good trading to you.
- JJT: $SVM - I have had this in portfolio since it was below $3. Very efficient miner - negative cost basis as they make about $6 on metals other than @silver (lead, zinc, etc) and a China play. I was stopped out at 12.34 waited to get back in and bought calls this time yesterday, looks like resistance at 100 SMA yesterday and today...

I am seeing some positive divergence on $CCI indicator I use, as this stock has been making lower lows the $CCI has been making higher lows. With that said, there is some pain in this chart so there is work to be done. This is a longer term position for me.
