- sierramp: $LW The weekly chart got me into this a couple of days ago. Coverage initiated by Wells Fargo: Overweight.
- sierramp: Sentiment Trader today has a very positive piece on Consumer Staples which got me looking at $LW. $LW is slightly abv resistance and a hair below the 200D, Market Smith is calling the pattern a Cup. ROE is 96% (impressive). I took a small piece and I'm stalking the 200D and volume.

- Docoof: I didn’t post this over the weekend b/c of second thoughts on the weekly chart. But it could play out successfully and it can’t hurt to post a trade idea: $KHC 6-month high on 7/13 = 39.44. The horizontal resistance line drawn from here is where $KHC failed on 8/11 (39.33), 8/23 (39.01), 10/28 (39.05), 11/2 (39.04), 11/22 (39.06) and on Friday (39.18). $KHC is in an Industry Group where its peers have recently made, or are still making, new highs: $GIS, $CAG, $LW, $PEP, $LANC, $POST, $SJM, $CPB, $TWNK, and others. $KHC is right above all its MAs, but they are not in order. I assume there’s some reason why its underperforming, but it seems worth watching for a high volume move above 39.50. Closed Friday at 38.90. $KHC’s 1-yr high = 44.87.

- DAN: Stocks to be watching: $LW -- Breaking out above $85. Already reported. $REGN -- Breaking out today on decent volume. Reporting on Thursday. $META -- I wouldn't buy this if it was the only stock trading. But this is a good stock to watch for those of you who think that buying a big selloff is the way to go. This dog traded completely below the 3rd standard deviation after reporting earnings. It's now still below that opening print four days later. The longer a big selloff remains at the bottom, the less likelihood there is that the stock will pop. It might not drop...but you shouldn't look for a pop. So, this is an opportunity to learn without it costing you money. Dan

- Bob G: $LW..Hey everyone. I am being forced to leave the community for medical reasons but before I go I wanted to bring $LW up for review. The stock has made a terrific 50% run since mid August. After making a huge move on earnings Jan 3, the stock has traded sideways in a nice channel and the BB's have pinched to about 3%. 4 consecutive days of higher lows with flat tops makes the set up even nicer. Who knows what will happen come Monday but this one is worth putting on your radar as it continues to defy the major indices swings. I would say best of luck to all of you but I don't bank on luck in trading. Just pay attention to @Dan and @ Scott and you will make money. I did!

- Henry: $LW I don't understand the potato thesis, but Steifel says they are overvalued. Stifel analyst Christopher Growe downgraded Lamb Weston to Hold from Buy with a price target of $92, up from $81. The frozen potato supplier closed Friday up $9.47, or 11%, to $93.53. The analyst cites valuation for the downgrade following Friday's share rally. Lamb Weston reported "strong" Q2 results on Friday while maintaining a positive and above consensus outlook for the business, Growe tells investors in a research note. The analyst, whose estimates remain ahead of the company's guidance and the consensus, now sees "more modest upside for the shares from this premium valuation level." As you have told us so many times, when it doesn't do what you expect, get out. In retrospect, I wish I had waited and shorted it when it went below 77, but that might qualify as a revenge trade and I try to avoid them.
