- DavidK: $GLD -$AA 🎯💥I am gonna start charging for these calls ! Hope yall jumped aboard . told yall yesterday Alcoa was done going down for now . Unfortunately I only bought 1000 shares yesterday. $ Bought $NCLH this am . $CLF yesterday.
- DavidK: $AA- big green bar just now . I am up to 2000 shares but sold 9 of the weekly 25.50 calls for .24 just to entice the crooks to come get em . I really only want tie up 1000 shares in AA so fine if they get em .
- DavidK: $AA- been buying down here . Just bought more . Earnings out of the way. Any good tariff news with Canada this jumps biggly . Alcoa shut down smelters in USA and built them in Canada. So far Alcoa won’t budge on restarting or even committing. An old USA company . Let’s see what Trump does with them . $CENX is the play but earnings due soon .
- DavidK: $AA- reported good earnings . Commented they aren’t going to restart closed down smelters in USA . I guess they calculated paying a tariff coming out of Canada is more cost effective and Trump will eventually give them some breaks of some sort . This is the perfect example of selling out USA . Alcoa has ruined some old manufacturing towns . Greedy CEO’s whose job is to maximize profits should have been lobbying Congress hard about power costs / breaks etc . Is Canadian labor that much cheaper ? $CENX. appears to be the better play in aluminum if you think aluminum is a good investment at these beaten up levels .

I am gonna ride 100 shares just to wet my beak and bet it’s sold off enough . $CLF - fundamentals suck , chart sucks , but 6.50 or so has been low . Hung in today . - DavidK: $AA- been hammered because of Canadian tariff . True story . I entered a buy order of 1000 shares at 24.55 at 1:37 pm today . I inadvertently bought 10,000 !! Yes it filled me on margin ( this is an E*trade trading account I use) I sold 7000 at 24.80 at 1:47pm to get off margin . Still holding 3000 shares . 😂🙏

Also picked up some $CLF from a quickie . They have issues and gonna take the auto industry turnaround to get them back up to even though they did diversify and purchase another steel company and market

- joelsg1: @DavidK $AA I think their tariff policy is misguided to say the least and the markets sell the tariff news amid the chaos, don’t have to take effect to undermine sentiment. But there actually is an off-ramp they could take to save market sentiment, involving reciprocal tariffs supposed to take effect 4/2. If they stop the daily and intraday tariff tantrums and only go reciprocal, that would put the response directly with our foreign trade partners, when they cut so do we, and since they want access to our consumers they should, we would too and then prices stabilize and markets would rally, hard. How to stop a self defeating hole? Stop digging.
- DavidK: $AA- not sure if anyone saw the short interview with Alcoa CEO on Fox this morning. He was begging for an exemption to tariff bringing in aluminum from Canada. He claims it cost too much to build a smelter in the USA and we need a ln energy policy to warrant such a move . Now , I worked for these clowns . They have shuttered plant after plant in this country . 2 smelters in Washington and Indiana in 2015-2016 .Ferndale and Warwick . Energy policy ? USA has unlimited supply of natural gas which is used in these plants . Just another Greedy CEO blowing smoke up everyone’s —s.

Big supplier to auto manufacturers. $CENX earnings coming in few days in the aluminum space . ( my old background early in my career ) $AA had good earnings for them as they usually know how to screw things up .

The unraveling / demise of the family unit when mom and dad don’t have a job at the local plant . There is your ROOT cause of the swirling down the 💩 er.

- DrScience: $AA breakout from a bull flag above the 200 DMA. The stock is pulling back from the high at $34.44 as bulls take some profits. While the pullback is a little deep, to the 61.8 fib retracement on the day, watch for a bounce back to VWAP at the 38% level.
- DrScience: $AA Three day, 35% run has bears running in circles, scratching their heads, and, generally, gnashing their teeth. My longer-term play had me rolling short Dec 30 covering calls out to Feb for $2.25. on the move above the opening range high. The stock continued to run right up to bump into the 200 DMA. I sold trading position at 32 and have orders in to buy on a pullback to the 28-30 range.

- champ: @DavidK $AA $JPM $CENX #Alcoa.....#Thanks for that Alert post....and $AA reported a miss on 4/19, however $JPM upgrade was about the Future Aluminum needs.....and another miss could drop $AA.....but a Flat report or a surprise beat might move $AA........ .....however the Key will be all about #Guidance, about the future, can't do anything about the Past...... ..... and that New Russia tariff on Aluminum, back in February could also help-out in the future, could also help guidance. However the bottom line is, I think you are right, that $CENX could miss and their numbers might matter. However I'm already in $AA.... but I might take 1/2 off, there is 80 minutes left and I will see how it plays out...before I make any adjustments....but a $CENX miss, might not matter, if its small, like $AA's miss was. I have both stocks parked next to each other.

- maracom: Hello all and happy end of 2022! Been traveling, haven't been trading over the holidays. Heading into 2023, I'm taking a wait-and-see approach. I've been stopped out of everything except $GDX (including $NEM in my #LTA and $WPM and $SLV in my #Trading acct) $XLE ($DVN in my #LTA), and $XME ($AA and $FCX in my #LTA). I've been stopped out of pretty much everything else I tried to trade for the #GrinchRally including $AMAT $ENPH $AAPL which were all losses. I think there's a fair chance that the markets continue downward in January and even though I've been bullish $GDX $XLE $XME, a nasty enough selloff can easily hit them as well, so I'm basically headed into 2023 in half cash with relatively tight stops on everything, and I'll wait for Mr. Market to let me know what the plan is.
