Allegro MicroSystems (ALGM) reported fiscal Q1 non-GAAP earnings Tuesday of $0.39 per diluted share, up from $0.24 a year earlier. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.37. Net sales for the quarter ended June 30 were $278.3 million, up from $217.8 million a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $273.3 million.

Became a gunslinger team leader with Audi, building their website to build / order cars online. Left Audi, and took a higher tech position with Pandora... doing the same type of web high end programming. He tells me that he uses ChatGPT daily, to tune his written web applications. He feeds his existing app code to ChatGPT... asks it "what can be imprroved"... and out comes recommended changes to make it faster and more solid.

In the legal biz, firms are very wary of ChatGPT because of its hallucinations, among other things. There have been some troubling outcomes in the law field, such as ChatGPT completely making up legal precedents and even writing its own cases that don't exist in reality. Some attorneys are in serious trouble because of it. They will be defending their licenses, even though they didn't intentionally deceive the courts or the opposition when their briefs ended up with citations to fictional cases dreamed up by ChatGPT.

- DAN: A few stocks I am watching: $VRA -- fairly new uptrend on the X-axis (though it's doubled since Oct.). Pushing through $6.00 resistance today. $BBW -- still a bit volatile, but starting to tighten up. $FIVE -- put that out earlier this today. $URBN -- still needs to pinch a bit...but it's showing a decent setup (just not yet). $FSLR -- holding $200. $EXTR -- building right side of base. Up today. $ALGM -- good company. Really straightens those teeth out. $SCPL -- 50-day MA support $ULTA -- a bit too steep last week but holding at the 50-day MA now. Could be a good setup. $DRI Plenty more...I just got tired of typing. [By the way, I was kidding about $ALGM. They are a semi company.]

- scottrades: Good morning Team! Lots of green on the screen, fresh off Jamie Dimon’s letter, which was all the talk on Bloomberg this morning. I am still watching the move in $GLD playout, as the monthly chart has a nice C&H on it. When charts start looking good on the long term time frames, you have to pay attention to them. I’m watching $GDX, $WPM, $RGLD, $NEM, $AEM, and hold some $GOLD. Also watching for re-entries on $SMH Stocks like $ON $ALGM. I see a nice base on $TSM. $NVDA is still in trend. $AMD is back to the 8EMA. I’ve also been mentioning Defense stocks like $LMT and $AXON which have started coming out of their bases. It's not bad and still working, it's just really slow to move. Weekly a bit extended. The semi sector may need a pause or pullback, and that's more time for $ALGM to do nothing... I feel like I'm heading toward @dan's time stop. What say you?
- scottrades: @natural $ALGM Could be a good day to take partials. Doesn't feel like it's on the brink of a breakout but the trend is still fine. I think if you have a cushion you'll want to own some but no reason to be oversized.

I see its in a vol sqz & generally holding the uptrending 8dEMA. 8 >50>200 so its trending in the right direction though weakly to my eye. I also see that stochastics is testing the overbought level and MACD is flat at the lower end of the range. Chalkin Moneyflow is flat in the lower end of the range. What says this is a good candidate?

- Bert953: @scottrades $ALGM yes, the weekly looks especially constructive since October but the daily looks fairly tepid to me. I set an alert at $47.5 out of curiosity but I'd need much more strength to be interested since this is (to me) a "trade small or not at all" market. This strikes me as the latter.
- scottrades: @Bert953 $ALGM I 100% agree. This could consolidate for a while based on the factors you mentioned. This is holding up right around support and can have lovely 3% days out of the blue. When the market looked like it was going to puke this stock didn't skip a beat. Will it go up today? I don't know, but I have a little, just in case.
- geothrills: The stability of $ALGM alongside its uptrend is what attracts me to it. Not a lot of stocks have been moving so orderly, and it just makes it a lot easier to define risk when they do.
