- vscottg: $TGT Target Corporation ($TGT) is up 14.41% premarket after crushing earnings estimates. Target said adjusted earnings for the three months ending on October 28 were pegged at $2.10 a share, a 36.4% increase from the same period last year. Profit margins were up by 300 basis points, or 3 percentage points, from last year’s quarter to 27.4%, Target said.

- traderbren: @Docoof $TGT - yeah, just insane that they have to close stores due to "shrinkage" (theft) but that's the world we live in. I've witnessed it in NYC numerous times. My wife witnessed an incident at $TJX last week with 9 people stuffing bags and casually walking out the doors. It's one thing when Dicks suffers from Shrinkage but now common practice across all retail these days! ;-)

I remember when I was in junior high, during the dawn of "hippies"... my parents constantly talking about how much they could not believe what was happening to our USA (understandable, since my dad who lied about his age and joined the navy in 1942 at 16, spending his entire hitch in the Pacific on an aircraft carrier). What he and mom were then shocked by, could not be even be fathomed today by either. I guess there is benefit for not living longer than one life time.

- phgruver: @roddog101 $TGT $BUD Word got out that Target was preparing a special promotion for "Gay Pride Week." $TGT has a long history of supporting the LGBTQ%2B community, so this isn't exactly new news. Regardless of how you feel about the issue, any selloff would be a buying opportunity, as they have successfully weathered several boycotts over the years.

That is some serious poor management and decision making if you ask me. If I would have made decisions like that during my career... as 1 of 4 US regional managers in the US... I would have been on the street post haste!

IMO the families and supporters goose up the statistics considerably. That said, there are lines that should not be crossed by either side and the most flagrant one is using children to support an agenda.

- vitoB: I’ll be trading $NKE at the open. Huge initial inventory builds on $TGT and $WMT were bought. Levels 2020 lows $60 3s lower BB 88.33 Set to open below 83. Yea i know they have a bunch of inventory, well they had to order more because they didn’t know what was getting though the ports, also they had to order because of the unknowns shutdowns in china. I think this is a one time thing. Yes lower demand and discretionary spending at a time where they have to discount with a strong dollar. But this is not a systemic problem for Nike and it was down 43% YTD already. DTC is more profitable and anecdotal i like their app. None of this really matters on 59min trades ill be lookin to fill that below 83 up to 88.
