  • Sher: $USFD - Stepped back into this food "gem" on Friday with Dec. $30 calls, after 3-day phase 2 PB and 7.5% bullish reversal - Stock is up another 4+%, today. BMO Capital recently upgraded the stock to “outperform” and upped the PT to $45 from $22 – Stock is currently trading @ $31.29.
  • Sher: $USFD - Back in this food "gem" with Dec. calls, after 3-day phase 2 PB and 7.5% bullish reversal, today. Had an insane trade on this, Monday, when I closed out a fairly large Nov. $25 call position that was fast approaching worthless status - The stock jumped 30+% and my calls, 1,335%... Unable to find any news, at the time, I sold all @ $5.60/share (closing price on Fri. was $.39/share). The next day, BMO Capital upgraded the stock to “outperform” and upped the PT to $45 from $22 – Stock is currently trading @ $30.06.
  • Sher: Have been harvesting profits and closing out several front month call positions, the past few days, namely $CTVA, $GT, $OMI, $PLTR, $RTX, $XLP, $XPO, $SOLO, $VNET and $USFD – A few were significantly underwater and had explosive reversals, which I took near immediate advantage of, since I neither trust or fully understand current market dynamics - Also, I just needed to scale down the number of holdings to reduce my stress level, some – Historically, I tend not to fare well the week of OPEX. I did add a couple of new positions, yesterday/today, with Dec. expiration dates: $NVTA, TDOC and $VSTO, all weekly, chart-based trades.
  • Sher: $USFD – Best trade of the day… Have no idea what’s propelling today’s 30+% increase in stock price (M&A, maybe), but taking advantage of 1,257% gains in previously (and seriously) underwater Nov. $25 calls and exiting all! Closing price on Fri. was $.39... currently trading at $5.90.
  • funkytrader: $USFD I'm in, a break of 19.7 should trigger higher prices.
  • DrScience: $SYY dramatic dive over the lunch hour to test of the 200 DMA, then small bounce. I was stopped out 1/2 position @ 76.65. ☹ Looks like the IWMMB crowd is saying that's all we're going to get after failing at the 8 EMA and falling back a buck. Caution sign flashing. Another failure at the 200 DMA and I may have to take my business to $USFD (They report earnings in the morning. )
  • CraigReynolds: Need Opinion on $USFD, a food holding consumers stable stock. Looking at buying. Looks like BO is $35.90, looking at starter position
  • sierramp: @CraigReynolds $USFD relative strength and volume aren't remarkable. $TAL $TGT and $THS are doing a better job of mirroring the SX50. $THS might be at a better buy point if you can ignore the fundies.

  • Christiane1: @Dan $USFD is it a buy now?
  • PJMR11: @Christiane1 $USFD Not Dan but I would say no because it is below opening print.
  • DAN: @Christiane1 $USFD I am in at $33.31. Will add at $34. My stop is at $32.90. Very very specific risk parameters.
  • bnnybklyn: @DAN $USFD in at 33.51 keep us update on your moves, thanks
  • DAN: @bnnybklyn $USFD I've raised my stop to $33.50 -- just below the opening price. Because I added to the position, my cost basis is higher now. I've raised my stop to lock in a very small loss if it's hit. I'm just leaving the trade alone now rather than fixate on it. I've set an alert at $34.20 to let me know if the stock is breaking higher on the day. So I'm covered either way. I can now just ignore the position and get on with my day. 8-)
  • etmagic: anyone in the $USFD trade Dan mentioned last night?
  • rverkamp30: @etmagic $USFD I was and sold at 34.06 treated it like a 59 min trade and didn't like the 3 red bars at 10:09
  • Henry: @etmagic $USFD yes but what difference does it make? If you take the trade, it's your trade, not Dan's, or anyone else's.
  • CraigReynolds: @etmagic $USFD I am. Will post 1st trade and have added twice with increasing my stop. Will see outcome in time.
  • GuitarGuy: @etmagic $USFD If you DID enter the trade, I hope you do well :) Follow proper risk management and have the right reasons for being in the trade. Win or lose, if it's a good trade, then it's a good trade :)
  • Reif99: @etmagic $USFD Didn't enter, then I gave up on it at 9:45
  • CraigReynolds: $USFD In at 33.4 first time and added at 34. now just added again at 34.2 with stop at 33.20 now
  • RICKSOLDLADY: @Henry $USFD .... that is kind of rude. If it didn't matter, why would we watch the videos? We look for guidance and act upon such, and we communicate on the Forum to get a feel of everyone's thoughts, not to get astringent remarks. Like others in here, I listen and follow the guidance. @etmagic, I followed it and it did not work. Bought when it traded above the 33.51 close, and put the exact tight stop at 33.92. The stock hit 33.91, and then bounced back.
  • Robert1965: @Reif99 $USFD Same here
  • DAN: $USFD Took 1/2 off the table and raised my stop to lock in a small gain on the remaining position. I'd probably just stay in the entire position if I didn't have to go to visit my doctor in a while to deal with an ear infection.

  • Christiane1: @etmagic $USFD went in at 34.03$ i know i took it a bit high, but i wasn"t sure when i saw it going back down at 9:40 and 9:41. my stop at 33.48$. will see what will happen :)
  • DAN: @etmagic $USFD You were right to ask, etmagic. That's why we are here. 8-) --Dan
  • greenpatrol: @etmagic $USFD Yep, got in at 33.15, then added at 33.55. Using a trailing stop for the whole position. Stop currently at 33.99
  • DAN: $USFD -- I'll discuss this in tonight's Strategy Session. I see some tendencies that I can help many of you with.
  • Forexpro: @RICKSOLDLADY $USFD

    Hi, Ricksoldlady,

Here's hoping that you're doing well despite the annoyance of getting stopped out. May I make a suggestion? Apart from Interactive Brokers, most firms, notably including TDAmeritrade, sell their order flow. Th ...
  • Robert1965: @DAN $USFD Thanks
  • CraigReynolds: $USFD Stopped out of trade after 3 adds. Small $29 after commissions. That equals about 4 hours pay at a fast food place. Learning to trade better. Thank all that are helping us newbies.
  • TunaHelper: @DAN $USFD Love your John Madden-style 59MT recaps - the play-by-play of what you're doing/thinking minute by minute for the trade. Super helpful! Boom! :)
  • rverkamp30: @DAN $USFD Could you also cover $CRCM with a play by play. Similar trade this morning but not many shares traded so I just watched from the sidelines.
  • Christiane1: @DAN $USFD my pivot point is at 35.77$ !! confused :)
  • Henry: @RICKSOLDLADY $USFD @RICKSOLDLADY $USFD It wasn't meant to be rude at all. It was meant to be a comment on trading psychology. If you are here for a stock picking service, Dan gets all the credit and all the blame. If one plays follow the leader, ...
  • baronp0329: @Christiane1 $USFD Hi Christiane. I use StreetSmart with Schwab. My pivot is 34.40 (like @Dan). I'm out of USFD. Bought first batch at 33.62. 2nd batch at 34.01. Sold first half at 34.42. Sold remaining half at 34.30. USFD is having a tough time breaking and staying above Pivot . Decent day trade, thanks Dan.
  • Allen: $USFD Just got stopped out. Up a buck and out. If I did that every day, it would be a good week.
  • Hokie54: Dan Great call on$USFD
  • Aragorn: @Hokie54 $USFD Inside 15 down for 4 more minutes
  • greenpatrol: $USFD Out now. Nice trade. Thanks @Dan, I see what you mean.
  • mzaki@cox.net: $USFD caught the flu
  • Christiane1: $USFD got stopped 60$ loss :(
  • Nepenthe: @Forexpro $USFD Thank you that explication (I've often wondered about "order flows" and how they're handled) and very useful suggestion regarding alerts. Recently, after years of "annoyance," through osmosis more than anything els ...
  • Stuart: @DAN $USFD what was your sizing for the entry at 33.31 and then the add at 34 e.g. equal parts or small entry, for example if full position is 6 shares, typically 3 trades at 2 shares per trade, for me 1 would be small, 2 normal and 3 would be medium and a bit aggressive, with the stock price at say 33 as USFD is. Dan, do you think in these terms on your trades.
  • CraigReynolds: @Stuart $USFD Great question. Not Dan but have the same thought. Probably depends on account size and the number of stocks that your account could support. But am interested in any advise on dividing an account in positions. I suppose a starter would be 1/4 of the money you would put in that stock. A 1/2 position would be 50% of the money in that position.
  • bnnybklyn: $usfd back in at 33.60. Stop at $33.50
  • bogiedog1: @DAN $USFD Could you address position size in relation to these "dead cat bounce" day trades. I realize portfolio size the ultimate determining factor, but my question is since this is a trade you are monitoring minute by minute, are you willing to take a larger percentage on a trade like this than you would on a typical entry position trade?
  • DAN: @Christiane1 $USFD I see mine as 35.77 now too. Honestly, Christiane1, I do not know the reason for the difference. Sorry about that, and thanks for pointing it out.
  • DAN: @Hokie54 $USFD Thanks Hokie54. Appreciate that.
  • DAN: @TunaHelper $USFD Happy to help, Tuna. 8-)
  • DAN: @rverkamp30 $USFD $CRCM Sorry, rverkamp30. Missed your post until just now. That would have worked well too.
  • DAN: @Henry $USFD Thanks for clarifying your post, Henry. (I knew what you meant...but the written word, particularly for newer members who aren't familiar with us regulars here, can be confusing).
  • mradams0621: @DAN #59MT A "Danism" from the last 59min coarse: roughly translated, "beginers take a trade, get stopped out and walk away, Pro's keep watching for a second shot at the target- no more than 3 attempts allowed". $USFD moving again!

  • vfr777: @vfr777 $KMB $USFD sorry, I said that USFD was at 50dma but it seems it bounced off and is now making it's way through the 8ema.
